Thermal 100 Ex Exterior Wall Insulation Plaster
DryFiX Thermal 100 EX is a premium, perlite-based exterior thermal insulation plaster with water-repellent (hydrophobic) properties. Easily applied by hand or machine, it replaces traditional insulation boards, allowing buildings to breathe while providing maximum energy efficiency.

DryFiX Thermal 100 EX Premium Perlite-Based Exterior Thermal Plaster

Maximum Energy Efficiency and A1 Fireproof Rating in a Single Coat, Eliminating Traditional Insulation Boards

DryFiX Thermal 100 EX is an inorganic, perlite-based, high-tech ready-mixed thermal insulation plaster formulated specifically for use on the interior and exterior facades, ceilings, and floors of buildings. It entirely eliminates the common problems associated with traditional polystyrene (EPS/XPS) insulation board systems—such as dowel hole structural damage, severe fire risks, building suffocation, and time-consuming labor—with a single monolithic application.

Having a wide range of applications from new residential projects to factories, hospitals, schools, and public buildings, Thermal 100 EX ensures the structural safety of buildings with its A1 Class completely non-combustible fireproof nature, acting as a supreme fire barrier. Thanks to its high water vapor permeability (μ ≤ 15), it allows the building to breathe freely, preventing internal condensation, mold, and dampness. Simultaneously, its W1 class water-repellent (hydrophobic) property effectively repels external rainwater from the facade. Its seamless structure, easily applied by a plastering machine or hand, eradicates thermal bridges, providing flawless thermal insulation and maximum energy savings.

Professional Application Instructions and Site Procedures

1. Substrate Condition and Surface Preparation

For perfect adhesion, the application surface must be completely free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, paint residues, and loose particles.

  • Before application, large cracks, spalls, and holes on the facade must be repaired with suitable repair mortars, and the surface must be brought to plumb (level).
  • Exposed concrete, smooth surfaces, or highly absorbent substrates must be primed with an appropriate DryFiX primer at least 24 hours prior to application to create an adhesion bridge.
  • In hot and dry weather where the ambient and surface temperatures are above +20°C, the surface should be lightly pre-wetted to prevent the plaster from losing its water too rapidly and cracking.

2. Mixture Preparation (Manual and Machine Integration)

Thermal 100 EX is a homogeneous powder that reacts with water. Cement, sand, lime, or any other foreign substances must absolutely not be added to the mortar.

  • Manual Application: Pour 13 liters of clean water into a mixing tub and add the entire 13 kg bag of Thermal 100 EX at once. Using a low-speed mixer, blend for 3-5 minutes until a lump-free consistency is achieved. Let the mortar rest for 5 minutes for the chemical reaction, then remix briefly until homogeneous. Critical Rule: Do not add extra water later to thin the prepared mortar during application. The fresh mortar must be consumed within 6 hours.
  • Machine Application: The water flow rate of standard ready-mixed plaster spraying machines is adjusted to a 1:1 ratio (13 liters of water for 13 kg of material). The entire bag is poured into the machine hopper and sprayed directly onto the facade.

3. Application System and Screeding

  • Once the surface is prepared, the thermal plaster should be applied to the facade in two staggered coats to reach the ideal thickness.
  • To prevent potential cracking at the junctions of different materials (e.g., concrete columns intersecting with brick walls) or at corners, a plaster mesh (fiberglass mesh) must be embedded between the coats.
  • When the material applied to the facade begins to draw its water and set (slightly harden) depending on weather conditions, the surface is leveled and smoothed using a steel trowel or a straightedge (screed).
  • After 1-2 days of curing, a decorative mineral plaster or exterior facade paint can be applied over it.

4. Critical Site Conditions and Limitations

  • The ambient temperature during application must be between +5°C and +35°C. Application should be avoided in excessively humid weather, strong winds, or directly under scorching sun.
  • The application must not be carried out if there is a risk of frost, heavy rain, or extreme heat within 24 hours following the procedure.
  • Where NOT to Apply: While Thermal 100 EX is a high-tech plaster, it is not a standalone "waterproofing membrane" or pool isolation product (do not use it alone on subterranean surfaces constantly exposed to moisture/water). Furthermore, it must not be applied over old painted surfaces, weak ready-mixed colored plasters, asbestos, existing insulation panels, or directly onto metal and wooden surfaces.

5. HSE, Equipment Cleaning, and Safe Storage

  • Since the product contains cement and inorganic binders, it may generate dust; a dust mask must be worn during mixing. Standard PPE including work gloves, safety goggles, and work clothes should be worn during application. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and skin. In case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of fresh water.
  • Immediately after application, all tools such as the plastering machine, hoses, trowels, and mixers must be washed and cleaned with water before the mortar dries (sets) on them.
  • Product packaging (kraft bags) must be stored between +5°C and +35°C on wooden pallets off the ground, strictly protected from direct sunlight, moisture, and frost. Opened bags must be tightly sealed.
